This image captures the goal of Free the Children, the people of the world uniting in one common goal, to educate the world; closing their eyes to racism and helping their under privileged brothers and sisters in other countries around the world to build schools which in turn creates a stronger, united global community. By holding hands, all the children become equal, and there is no separation between class, age, or gender. The children are trying to make a change in our society and closing their eyes to past problems our societies have faced, only looking to the future to make the best of what we have. I personally connected to this photo because it showed me the unlimited potential of youth in our world. By lying down and creating a circle they are unified and showing that there is never a beginning or an end when it comes to helping out another individual. There will always be a need, and there always has been. Like Arthur and his round table, there is no one at the head, and no one at the foot. When they lie down it symbolizes their equality, no one is higher than another, and no one is lower than the others. Although we are building schools to educate the underprivileged, it is often them who teach us the most valuable lessons, showing us that we are all students in the global education system. By donating to Free the Children we are not only helping to build schools for the underprivileged, we are helping to create the leaders of tomorrow through the students of today.

Azlynn Yablonski

As a lively girl, I don’t like sitting around. This travel brochure is sure to give you a brief introduction to what Regina has to offer.

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum - May-Sept Daily 9am-5:30pm Sept - Apr Daily 9am-4:30pm

Earth sciences, life sciences, and First Nations heritage are just a few of the topics receiving in-depth attention at this Saskatchewan must-see. Devoted to the history of the province, you can also study the plants and animals that originated here and learn the fascinating history of the area's first peoples. You'll even find "Scotty," one of only a dozen known T-Rex dinosaurs in the world. Fun and educational for kids and adults alike.

Admission - Free

A favorite of locals as well as visitors, this park, which includes a man-made lake, was established by the legislature in 1962. One of the largest parks in North America it includes kid-friendly parks as well as areas for skiing, tobogganing, boating, hiking, swimming, outdoor performances, bird watching and much more.

Cornwall Shopping Center - Mon-Tue, Sat 9:30am-6pm; Wed-Fri 9:30am-9pm; Sun Noon-5pm

This mall is a local favorite thanks to its top-of-the-line selection. With more than 90 shops, you're sure to find just what you're looking for, including clothing, shoes, gifts and so much more. Shops include Sears, Eddie Bauer, Gap, Roots, American Eagle Outfitters. In fact, there are more than 30 stores here that can't be found anywhere else in Regina.

Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Game

Any sports fan in town during football season simply cannot miss a Roughriders game. This is where you can see local color at its best, as the die-hard fans root on their home team with awe-inspiring fervor. Known to many as "Canada's Team," the Roughriders compete in the Canadian Football League and have won two Grey Cup championships – the Canadian equivalent of the Super Bowl.

Tickets – varies by seats $95-195.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Center - Fri-Wed 10am-6pm; Thu 10am-8pm

Since 1873, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have played a key role in the development of Saskatchewan and Canada as a whole, and this museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the history, tradition, training and equipment that makes this corps unique. Try to catch the Sergeant Major's Parade any weekday at 12:45, or in the evenings view the elaborate flag lowering ceremony that involves uniformed members on horseback.

Admission - Free

As an insider and growing up in Regina, our weather has four distinct seasons, which is great because you get to have four different wardrobes. Winter is our longest season, they are long and cold, they best way to get by them is to make the most out of it. Go downhill skiing, snowboarding, skating, or building a snow fort or man. As an insider and many years of experience, it’s usually not a good idea to stick your tongue on an iron pole in -40 weather! Spring calls for a light jacket or a rain coat, lots of April showers. Summer is hot, bathing suit/beach weather, my personal favorite time of the year however sometimes we get the unexpected rainy days. Lastly autumn is time to bring out the jackets again; winter is on its way!

I encourage you to come to the city of Regina where our atmosphere will make you feel like your at e and the people are friendly and helpful!

Donating blood

July is the month when blood is needed the most! A few weeks ago I was able to go down to the Calgary Blood Services and donate blood. It was such a rewarding experience knowing that I would be saving three lives. I would recommend going out to donate blood becuase one day you might need blood, and without people donating their will be no blood!

Its extremely rewarding, and doens't even hurt! So please please please!! Donate blood.

Le Fame (MTC-W Special Assignment #1)

Le Fame is a reality/drama about the life of Taralyn Wolfe. Taralyn is a high school student at The Paris School of the Arts in France. The show follows her and her closest friends in their everyday life. The drama between everyone is real and shows how they all cope with life as a teenager. From relationships to heartbreak, to backstabbing, Le Fame is the up and coming show to look out for!

Taralyn is an acting major, and is working on breaking into the world of acting. She is usually up late rehearsing her lines so she can be seen everywhere with a Red Bull in her hand. Also Taralyn always needs to be looking her best, so she only uses John Frieda hair products, and Christina Swimwear's via Brasil bathing suits while she tans.

Taralyn'sbest friend Michelle is a dance major, and keeps Taralyn grounded. Michelle is the one Taralyn talks to when she has had a bad day, or is fighting with her boyfriend, Tim. The first episode sets up everyone's relationship. It starts with Taralyn in drama class rehearsing her lines with her boyfriend Tim. After they finish up their lines they walk to get some coffee and to talk. Michelle walks up, coming from dance rehearsal and sits down next to Taralyn. They start to talk about the up coming prom that they will all be attending. Michelle is having problems with her boyfriend and Taralyn tries to help her through it. Tim tries to offer a boy's point of view but Michelle's problems don't get resolved. The table then turns on Taralyn who is having trouble of her own. Taralyn had recently lost her friendship with Jenna, also a dance major. Jen became resentful towards Taralyn because of her recent achievements. Taralyn is worried about grad because Jen was supposed to be sitting at Taralyn's table. She knew things would seem awkward, but maybe they could work things out.

Later in the episode it shows Taralyn and Michelle getting ready for prom. They are at the hair salon getting their hair and nails done, and they are talking about the upcoming evening. They are both excited to see their boyfriend's in their tuxs, and to spend a fun night with the other grads. The topic does turn to Jen though. Taralyn just has a feeling that Jen is going to try and pull something tonight because it would cause a major scene, and Jen has always been one for drama. The first episode comes to a close with Taralyn and Michelle walking into prom with their dates on their arm, and Taralyn seeing Jen with Taralyn's ex-boyfriend.

Le Fame is going to be a hit because teens everywhere will be able to relate to the drama that goes on. Taralyn and her friends are basic high school students just trying to deal with everyday issues. Le Fame shows the positive and negative aspects of high school and one girl just trying to find a place in her world.

My summer kick off!

This past Wednesday was my official kick off to my summer! Earlier in the spring I joined The Calgary Stampeder Outrider dance team to get more involved in my community, and Wednesday was the first game. It was such a rush stepping onto the field for the first time. The crowd was amazing and they were really into the game! The Stampeders played great and brough home a win! I am so greatful that I got to be apart of the game, and how I get to be apart of such a great team! I'm counting down until I get to put on my uniform for the next time!

There are 30 girls on the team this year so our dressing room was quite chaotic! We were all ready when we arrived but of course we had some last minute preparations to take care off, and some last minute practicing. Luckily the rain had stopped right before we stepped on the field, because it had been thundering all day!

Overall it was such a fun experience getting to dance and cheer at the football game, and being a role model within my community is really cool as well!

End of High School

Yesterday was May 23, 2009. This day is going to stick out in my mind for years to come. On May 23, 2009 I graduated from high school. We started with the ceremony in the morning, and then the family banquet in the evening. The ceremony is what touched me the most. Sitting in my chair surrounded my 614 other blue gowns all waiting for their name to be called to recieve their diploma made me realize that even with all the cliques and drama of high school we all want to achieve the same things. To move on from the safe environment of high school that we have known for three years, and venture out on our own. Yesterday was the first time I felt like I could relate to the entire graduating class and the first time the cliques and drama didn't even matter. Graduation made everyone realize just how important high school really is.
